Elastomeric Waterproofing Membrane

Water repellency is a desired feature in the construction industry. Bridgedots has developed an elastomeric waterproofing and crack prevention membrane. It is used for waterproofing of tile and stone roofs and floors. Since the membrane is water repellent, it also acts as a moisture barrier on floors.

The waterproofing material was developed based on modified acrylic latex. The final membranefeatures sufficient hardness and abrasion resistance, making it applicable for both interior and exteriors purposes.

Our waterproofing membrane has high a degree of adhesion on concrete, metal pipes and drains, SS, PVC and ABS. Since the waterproofing membrane is also elastomeric also reduces crack transmission due to temperature variations.

Paving Jointing Mortar

For a client based in Europe, Bridgedotshas developed an innovative paving and kerbing mix (mortar). The novel technology has enhanced strength and water permeability. It is labor saving, and takes less than 24 hours for hardening, thereby reducing the time taken for the area applied to be ready for use.

The product is based on sand/quartz and polymeric binder. It has a shelf life of over six months, with consistent and stable strength after hardening. The technology has been commercialized, and the product is now available in the market.

Soil Stabilizer

Infrastructure is the lifeline of every country, while roadwayis the anchor of cities. With increasing number of commuters, we have to ensure a longer life of roads to tolerate fluctuations in traffic conditions. To achieve this, the underlying soil has to be reinforced with mechanical properties, such as enhanced strength and resistance to softening.

Various chemical binders help in soil stabilization so that the underlying soil provides better support to the structures built on them.Binders based on polymers and organic compositions are widely available in the market.

Polymeric binders, based on polyurea require heating after mixing with the soil to initiate the chemical reaction for binding. On the other hand, organic compositions do not provide binding action for longer durations, requiring constant replenishment, which is an ordeal after laying the road.Bridgedots developed a technology that addresses both the concerns.

The product, an admixture, is an advanced soil stabilizer.When the cementitious admixture is mixed with soil in a predetermined proportion (based on soil type and nature), it enhances the mechanical properties of the soil. Since the admixture is in powder form, it only requires water to be mixed with the soil. Typically, about 4-6% of admixture is sufficient to provide long-lasting finishes.

Rosin Color Stabilization & Modification

Rosin, a solid form of resin, is a byproduct of the paper industry, which finds applications in a variety of industries. However, rosin by itself has low chemical stability due to unsaturation, which leads to its decolorization.To improve rosin’s utility, chemical modifications such as esterification, hydrogenation, dimerization and functionalization is required.

In esterification process, rosin reacts with polyols in the presence of a catalyst at high temperature to give esterified rosin. This enhances its properties and imparts stability. Esterified rosins are commonly used as hot-melt adhesives, tackifiers, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and in chewing gums. They are used in contact adhesives, glue sticks, carpet backings, book binding, and for sticking footwear and leather.

However, some esterified rosins are used in high-temperature applications like roadside marking, hot-melt adhesives, etc., where they tend to darken or decolorizedue to oxidization in the presence of air. This degrades its aesthetic aspects, also rendering them useless for the application.

The methods used earlier for improving color were not very effective: Bleach Earth Treatment is hard to administer at industrial level, as the material has to be treated in liquid state below 100 °C, while Hydrogenation is very exhaustive, requiring cumbersome setup and equipment.

Bridgedots has developed a technology that not only stabilizes rosin’s color for high-temperature processing and application, but also modifies the rosin by optimizing viscosity, adhesiveness, tackiness and other properties. This makes it suitable for applications such as roadside marking and ink adhesive.

Water-Based Primer on Ester Rosin

Primers render the surface of construction materials to be more receptive to adhesives, by increasing the compatibility, and adhesion strength and life.

Bridgedots has developed a primer, based on ester rosin and other suitable materials. The primer when applied on construction materials, increases their compatibility and receptivity towards the common adhesives used in the industry.
